Do we each need unique cell phone numbers to sign up?

  • Updated

Yes, both the parent and the child/teen need to have their own active cell phone numbers in order to successfully create their accounts.

Your phone number must be issued by a phone carrier such as T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, etc. We do not accept landlines or VOIP numbers (Google voice, free calling/texting apps, etc.) at this time.

This is due to our two-factor authentication process that is in place to protect accounts from fraud.

Unfortunately, we don't offer a way for parents or children to sign up for a Copper account without their own active phone numbers at this time.
