Due to legal regulations, we can only open an account in the name of someone 18 years old or older to be the legal account holder. Then the adult parent/guardian/grandparent sets up a youth (age 6 or older) as an authorized user of a debit card linked to their bank account.
1️⃣ Download the Copper app from iOS or Google Play.📲
2️⃣ Select "I'm a teen"
3️⃣ Follow the registration screens to the home screen.
4️⃣ Invite your parent/guardian to activate their account.
- Tap on the 'More' ⚙️ in the bottom right corner.
- Select the "My Family" option.
Once your parent has accepted your invite, they will see "Open a Bank Account" option on the home screen of their Copper app. They'll need to select that option to create their Copper bank account, which will be used to fund your spending account connected with your debit card. They can easily link to their regular bank account or their bank account's debit card to regularly transfer funds to the account.
Once your parent successfully creates their account, a card will be shipped to you and a virtual card will be made available within your Copper app! 💳
