How do I update my name on my account?

For the adult account owner

If this name change is for the adult account holder, banking regulations require us to update the identity verification completed at the account activation.

As a result, before we update your account, we will need a copy of both your updated state-issued ID (front and back) and social security card with your updated legal name.

Please reach out to our Customer Support team by logging into your Copper app and sending us a message through the Support option in 'More' ⚙️, Support, and request assistance with "Update name on account."

 

For authorized youth users

We highly recommend that your name on your Copper account matches your legal name that would match any direct deposit payroll file. If there is a name mismatch it can cause deposits to bounce back to the bank of your employer instead of being deposited into your account.
